While cougars as a broad ranging group vary from vulnerable to endangered, the Florida panther is critically endangered, with 100 or less remaining. As some of you may recall, there was an action alert when one, a young female who would have had kittens, was killed for her body parts as "trophies" not long ago. On Big Cat Rescue’s action alerts page, there's action to save Florida Panthers, if you know anyone in Florida.
